There was a man I learned this
from after years of listening to his sermons. I have asked
people if they were saved and they would say "yes."
I would ask them, how did they know? They have replied,
"I’m a baptized presbyterian", or I’m a baptist
or (fill in your own religion or myth.) But ask them why
they are saved and I really think most of them don’t know.
But most people believe you have to DO something more than
believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins...
That is why I have titled this Message
"Helping God." If you do not listen to the Word of God rightly
divided then you will not know the correct plan of salvation for today.
If you believe you have to be good and live a good life or else you
won’t go to heaven. I am not advocating sin here; I am only stating
that is not what God’s word says...
The Lord Jesus Christ has done everything
for you that needs to be done. He was perfect, sinless. His blood
was pure, it covers our sins. You cannot be held accountable for them
again... What can man add to that? Let’s look at what happens when
man tries to help God.
Abraham believed God but he thought he
had to help him.
Gen. 16:2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold
now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in
unto my maid; that it may be that I may obtain children by her. And
Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
God had told Abram and Sarai that they
would have a child and after a while they decided to do things their
own way. They had a son now by Sarai's handmaid that begat today’s
Arab populace. The covenant made was with the promised son of Sarai,
Isaac. See what a problem this all has become now? More about this
in the next message.
Let’s try another one. When I first read
this in the Bible it upset me because I didn’t fully understand it
but read on and see what you think. This time it involved the Ark
of the Lord. It was being transported by David when it almost tipped.
1Chronicles13:9 And when they came unto the threshing
floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark: for the
oxen stumbled. 10 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzza,
and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and he died
before God.
Wow, he tried to keep the ark from falling.
God killed him. Why, because God told no one to touch the ark.
Through out the Bible the Lord has given us instruction
to live this life by. God has told us the plan of salvation, God has
told us about the consequences if we reject his Son. Make sure you
are on the right highway before you leave this website because we
are not promised tomorrow. We are promised eternity, where will you
spend yours? Make sure it is not in Hell because you thought you were
safe in your church.
Now let’s go to Moses. When he is in the
wilderness Look what happens. Numbers 20:7 And the Lord spake unto
Moses saying, 8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly
together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock
before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt
bring forth to them water out of the rock:
Moses in his anger with the people possibly
did not believe the rock would put forth water by speaking to it,
instead he used the rod as he had wrought many miracles by.11 And
Moses lift up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice:
and the water came out abundantly.
This prevented Moses and Aaron from ever being allowed
into the Promised Land. After all the years in the wilderness and
Being called to lead the children of Israel
out of the land of Egypt.
Please try today to listen to God’s word.
If you don’t know what it is ask someone who does. When you are sure
you know what it is then ground yourself in the Word and be unmovable.
The days are short find the way before it is too late.
