Abel offered correct Sacrifice and Cain did not. Although Cain’s
works were of good intent, they were not pleasing to the Lord.
Have you read the Levitical Laws? Have you seen the pages and
pages of laws and dietary laws that you had to keep to be acceptable
back there, with of course a Sacrifice...
The book of Deuteronomy is filled with religious commands and
laws handed from Moses to Joshua before Moses died... These
were strict and of course they too required a Sacrifice.
Pharisee and the Publican
Jesus answered these men and said in Luke 18:9
And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves
that were righteous and despised others: 10
Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee,
and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood
and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not
as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even
as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week,
I give tithes of all I possess. 13 and the
Publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his
eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God, be
merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you this
man went down justified rather than the other: for everyone
that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth
himself shall be exalted.
Have you ever read this? Have you ever really got down into
what is being said here? The Pharisee’s religion did him
no good. In fact... It appears that the Pharisee might have
ended up in hell...
Again the publican had the right Sacrifice; he accepted the
Lord.
The Pharisees of that day had the Lord turned over to Pilate.
They were the highest of the religious order.
John the Baptist called them a generation of Vipers.
Look what Paul says about religion Phil. 3:5
Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe
of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law,
a Pharisee; 6 Concerning zeal, persecuting
the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law,
blameless. 7 But what things were gain to me,
those I counted loss for Christ. Yea, doubtless, and I counted
all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ
Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things,
and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.
Have you ever really read those verses to see what Paul is
saying? He was in his own eyes a perfect church going individual,
work doing, pork abstaining, circumcised Jew. And after he received
the Lord Jesus Christ, he counted all those things he was and
did (works)....DUNG.
I’m not making this up; it’s in your Bible if you
are reading from a King James Version. Religion is not where
it’s at. 2 Corinthians 6:16 And what
agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the
temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in
them and walk in them; 17 Wherefore come out
from among them and be ye separate, saith the lord, and touch
not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
If you are saved you are told not to be unequally yoked with
unbelievers, you are also told to come out from among them...
This world is in a terrible mess today. I turn on my TV or
I have conversations with people who make fun of the evangelists
on TV or say all the churches are asking for your money. In
many cases they are. They teach you... Right out of the Bible...
Out of Context... Out of the wrong dispensation... To teach
you what THEY want you to know... The NEED you to fill up their
seats and give money and bring in more members so they can add
glory unto themselves... I’m not saying all of them but
certainly enough of them to destroy what’s left of trust
out there. Where will it end? It started in the garden of Eden,
it will end with the son of perdition deceiving nearly everyone
on the face of the earth with some form of workable religion
to appease all concerned...
I know people that have spent their entire life going to church
and I’m not sure if they're even saved... They never read
their Bible, they take for granted what someone is telling them
to be the truth. In many cases I don’t think the preacher
knows any better. How can the blind lead the blind? They cannot.
Open your Bible; if you don’t have one...don’t let
the sun go down on you tonight until you have one—a King
James Bible. Read it, see for yourself. Ask someone who can
show you the truth.
We all have to stand before the Lord someday. Don’t let
the last words you hear before you are cast into eternity be
"Depart from me you worker of iniquity, I NEVER KNEW YOU."
This is serious stuff; it’s not about what you do, or
the religious organization you belong to, it’s about what
Jesus did for you.
But please don’t forsake the assembly; find Christians
that believe in salvation without works or laws or religion.
Be all of one accord, come out of that church if it is not teaching
you that the only thing you need to be saved is to believe that
Jesus Christ died for your sins. He was the Son of Almighty
God, he was buried and rose the third day...according to the
scriptures.
I spent 20 years in a religious system and I thought I was
going to hell every day. Thank God that’s over with for
me; I had been set free, 2000 years ago. But no one told me.
Give me that old time religion?
