Who's Watching the Bear?
September 6, 2003

Hello, thank you for being here. We would like to point out what we believe to be prophetic events of the bible today. It involves Russia. At a time when our military forces are spread dangerously thin, we pray our military intelligence at home is aware of every possible scenario. Well that is our hope anyway. There is a specific threat mentioned in the bible in the last days about BEARS watching in these latter days. Please follow closely as we lay out a few things. Quoting sources in a recent Newsweek article by Fareed Zakaria, “our U.S. occupation force in Iraq is at about 150,000. Ninety percent of all U.S. military police, for example, are on active duty: 12,000 are in Iraq; most of the rest are in South Korea or Europe. There are no more MPs to call on."

"The shortage is not simply of military personnel. Iraq’s administrator Paul Bremer is an able man who has made several smart choices since he has taken charge. He is, however, understaffed and underfunded. The Coalition Provisional Authority has about 1,000 people working for it. Douglas Macarthur had about five times that number when he was nation-building in Japan."

"Failure in Iraq would be a monumental loss for America’s role in the world. Washington will have created instability in the heart of the oil-producing world; weakened America’s ability to push for change in other middle-eastern countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran and Syria and given comfort to its foes. The old order will rejoice and the Middle-East would return to its stagnant and self destructive ways."

You see, herein lies the quandary. The U.S. simply cannot afford to pull out of Iraq now. We have begun an occupation that is likened to that of the Israelis. The constant sniping and terror attacks, bad press, unrest at home from the left. International voices raining down on our every side. There is an ever present danger growing in North Korea, Africa, China, India, Kashmir, and the list goes on. Most if not all pose nuclear or bio threats to the entire world. How this is too thin? Look out your window, read the morning newspaper, turn on your national news. Were too thin...

Building of a Coalition

We wanted to add this story for emphasis to the one just written above to tie into a prophetic event we believe to be looming over us at this very moment. In a recent article on the AP by Alex Kwiatkowski titled, "Saudi Crown prince to visit Moscow," we would like to point out a couple of disturbing trends taking place in spite of the distrust of Putin on aid to Chechen Rebels by Saudi Arabia. Source is quoted, "Moscow has reprimanded Riyadh for allegedly providing financial support to Chechen separatists. Russian officials have maintained that the Chechen gunmen who seized a Moscow theater last October made calls to Saudi Arabia during the siege."

Abdullah and his delegation, including Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal and Oil Minister Ali Naimi, are to meet with President Vladimir Putin and other officials during the three day trip.

Energy issues are also expected to be high on the agenda. Saudi Arabia and Russia are the WORLD'S two largest oil exporters.

Prof. Vladimir Isayev, deputy director of the Institute of Oriental Studies in Moscow: "Saudi Arabia is on the verge of being a social outcast"

"Between them, there must be separate talks so that Saudi Arabian oil does not collide with Russian oil, and Russia does not start competition that could lead to a fall in (oil) prices," Isayev said.

The Punch Line

"According to Saudi sources, the two countries are also expected to discuss Iraq and Middle-East progress. Riyadh hopes the visit will strengthen Russia’s support to Arab causes, particularly the PALESTINIAN issue.

With about 20 million Muslims living in Russia, Putin has expressed a desire to see Russia become an observer nation in the Organization of Islamic Conference, a grouping of Muslim Majority Countries, and the issue could be raised."

Well that’s interesting isn’t it? They are going to discuss the issue of the Palestinians, oil prices, and Being a member of the Muslim Majority Council. How would you guess these meetings are going to turn out? I would venture to say, Saudi Arabia will make a deal with Russia to keep oil prices high and also sweeten the pot by condemning all terrorist attacks in Chechnya. Will Russia be asked to support the Palestinian cause by forming a coalition with Saudi Arabia?

The Bible says in Ezekiel 38:3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O God, the Prince of Meshech and Tubal: 4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, and horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour... 5 Persia, Ethiopia and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: 6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: Verse 10 Thus saith the Lord God; it shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shall think an evil thought: 11 And thou shalt say, I will go up against the land of unwalled villages.

I have read these verse numerous times but today I have found something different. Watch closely. There is a coalition formed of Russia and the others mentioned here are of Muslim nations. They band together and decide to go up against Israel. In verse 13 it says Sheba, and Dedans and the merchants of Tar shish with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? Note this appears to be Britain; I don’t know who Sheba and Dedans are, but whoever they are, they're caught totally off guard! This attack is met with severe force in that it kills all but a sixth of the original coalition.

Chapter 39 Middle of verse 1 Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the prince of Meshech and Tubal: 2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts , and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel.

Notice something here; God says that he is against the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: then God says he will turn thee back and leave but a sixth part of thee. Notice two things here. God did not mention the other five this time... Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya, and Gomer and Togarmah. That’s FIVE countries; five from six is one, or One-Sixth. This time it’s just Russia...ALONE and God destroys them in such a manner that in 38:9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the hand staves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years.

The last battle with Russia is at the end of the tribulation period... The first battle with the Arab Coalition could happen at the beginning or lead to the great Tribulation. It is shaping up quickly. Do you have loved ones that are not saved? Pray for them and turn them over to the Lord. Time is short...Very Short.

Thank you all....

“Press toward the mark of the high calling.”
