Another verse: Luke 24:10 It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna,
and the mother of James, and other women that were with them,
which told these things unto the apostles. 11 And their words
seemed as idle tales, and they believed them not. 12 Then arose
Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; stooping down, he beheld
the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering
in himself at that which was come to pass.
Interesting, isn’t it? What am I saying? OK, most of
the churches in the known world today base their salvation and
church doctrine on the Books of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John.
I would like for you to read all the books when you have time
and see these things I’m telling you are true. Why? Because
most churches today teach these doctrines for your salvation
based upon what the 12 Apostles did. Now, I would like to ask
you, If the apostles didn’t know Christ was dying and
being resurrected from the dead, then how pray tell could they
have known Jesus was dying for anyone’s sins? They didn’t
know.
They later preached "repent and be baptized for remission
of sins," because they realized they had crucified the
Son of the Living God. But as I have said before, remission
of sins is NOT forgiveness of sins. Read it and see.
The apostles were looking for the Lord to sit upon the Throne
of David. The great commission was what Christ taught them in
His EARTHLY ministry. Someday in the future, as I have said
before, that WILL be reestablished, but not today. Today, salvation
is by Grace through Faith only. Not of works, signs and wonders.
Sorry, so sorry to tell you that. I know it’s hard to
break away from Church doctrine your whole family is involved
in, but you need to do it and do it quickly.
I’m sorry I got off into that, but as I am writing sometimes
it just seems these things need to be said.
Back to the story. I know at Easter time people speak of Christ’s
Resurrection and Praise God for that! But I would like for you
to see something today a man showed me from a tape I had from
years ago; it is without a doubt the most moving things (to
me) I have written about lately.
When the Lord rose from the grave there were a couple things
that happened that I don’t hear anyone preach about anymore.
So today, Please allow me to attempt it.
The Apostle Paul says, Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When
he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts
unto me. 9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also
descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that
descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens,
that he might fill all things.)
The Lord Himself says, Luke 25 Then he said unto them, O fools,
and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter
into his glory?
Have you ever heard anyone preach on these things? What do
they mean? Where did Christ go? I’ll tell you, He went
down into hell and preached unto them and he also woke up the
Old Testament Saints and told them He was the Messiah they had
been told of. I would also imagine and I can’t prove this,
but if you are saved, I am sure the Lord let hell and its demons
know, they don’t have any rights to you now!
Now notice he also ascended up far above all heavens. We all
know about when he ascended into heaven when he left the apostles.
Luke 24:50 And he led them out as far as Bethany, and he lift
up his hands and blessed them. 51 And it came to pass while
he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into
heaven. Praise God for that as well! The Lord will come in like
manner to restore the Kingdom on Earth when he returns.
But you and I aren’t mentioned yet. Where are we? Are
you with me still? If you are a Christian, you are not going
to inherit the Kingdom, We will reign with him. People that
inherit the Kingdom are flesh and blood. We will be SPIRIT!
Ok, don’t start throwing rocks; if you are a bible-studying
Christian, you already know this. I want to show you something
now, When Mary Magdalene met the Lord after his resurrection
notice what he says to her, John 20:16 Jesus saith unto her,
Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni, which
is to say, Master. 17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for
I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and
say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and
to my God, and your God.
Notice in these verses the Lord warned her not to touch him
because he had not ascended to the Father yet.
The Upper Room:
Luke 24:36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the
midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 37 But
they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed they had seen
a spirit. 38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? And
why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and
my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit
hath not flesh and bones, as you see me have.
Folks, this is all on resurrection Sunday! From the time Jesus
talked to Mary Magdalene until He showed up with the ten, He
had ascended into Heaven and came back!
Where are we mentioned here? The Lord Jesus ascended into Heaven
and when he did I am sure He had a wonderful reunion with God
almighty and then, I am certain he handed God a Little Book
with our names in it and said, These are MINE; I have paid for
them!
Folks, the Lord never apprised the 12 of these things, for
our salvation was to be at a different time and in the future.
Yet, the Lord appeared in Glory, the Bible says, brighter than
the Noon day Sun unto the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus
and began our message of grace. The apostles didn’t know
of any of these things until Acts 15, when Paul told them about
it.
I will write more on these things later, just stay with us.
Thank you and God Bless each of you as you go to your daily
lives. Remember, Jesus died for your sins, believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
Thank you.
Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.
