Prophecies and Tongues
January 27, 2005

Hello everyone, and again I thank you for being here. I realize that at times I write messages that are a little out of the ordinary, but I have a reason for it. Our job is not to condemn any church but to build up believers in the faith; however that faith must be preached from the bible and that rightly divided. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Next verse will show you the crux of the message for today. 2 Timothy 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Folks, I have noticed down through the years people that profess to have a "Word" from the Lord, and I totally believe that is possible. But prophecy that comes from speaking in tongues? I have my doubts. I know a lot of you already are gathering up stones to throw at me but I bid you to give this some thought. If ALL the prophecies that are coming out of the Church today are from God, then why are they all different? Why is there not at least "ONE" prophet whose prophecies all come true? Answer: I don’t believe there are any.

Now, please don’t go in a rage. I want to tell you I have been in many churches and witnessed this firsthand and I have never seen such a state of confusion in my life, yet, people Sunday after Sunday or Saturday or Wednesday night stand in the church and repeat the same things over and over and then say “Thus sayeth the Lord." God is Truly not the Author of confusion. The answer, I believe with all my heart, is that there aren’t any prophets today, at least not in the Likes of Elijah or Jeremiah.

I know the apostles spoke in tongues, and I also know Paul spoke in tongues, but did you know that they were "Empowered by the Holy Spirit"? Did you also know they didn’t have any "script" they carried with them. Why? Because they had an unction from the Father that no man need teach them anything. 1 John 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. Let me ask you something today, do you know anyone like that alive today? I don’t. The apostles were "EMPOWERED" by the Holy One, you are "Sealed by the Holy Spirit." That is a big difference. The apostles had the power to drink poison, survive deadly snake bites, and read people's thoughts as Peter did to Ananias.

The point I am getting to is there was a time and a dispensation of a certain gospel called the Gospel of the Kingdom that these things took place and it came to an end after they were all martyred. These very signs and wonders followed the apostle Paul for a while but somewhere about the time he went into prison, they started to come to and end. Why? I am certain the answer is in the message I am writing today.

If you pray about this and then read it in your bible for yourself, you will certainly see some changes in the church today and the way it was back then. People out there today including pastors are claiming things that they cannot have and many many people are praying and claiming things that are not in this period of time we live in now as "The dispensation of the Grace of God." When people go to a church that has all these so-called miracles and then nothing happens they go away disheartened and many of them never make their way back. You can have whatever "spiritual blessing in heavenly place" that are available to you today as spoken of in Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.

Those you can have. But if someone is promising you the other ones, I don’t see where it is scriptural if you are rightly dividing the Word of truth. Let’s just speak the truth here. Have you ever asked for some of those miracles back in Mat., Mark, Luke and John and didn’t get them? Well of course you have. Before I learned this, I too was claiming all these things. I couldn’t move any mountains, and I have actually tried to do that. I have tried to heal the sick, I couldn’t do that either. I can't even heal my own cold. Folks, read this bible and rightly divide it like you are supposed to; we walk by faith, not by sight. "Signs" were given to the Jews, NOT to the Gentiles, also for a short time while Paul was preaching. I am teaching you the Premium Deep truth of the Word here today folks and I have to stand accountable for what I am telling you here.

1 Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling symbol. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge: and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have no charity, I am nothing.

The apostles actually had these gifts folks and the one that shone bright above the rest was...charity. I urge you to read the rest of the verses in that chapter, but for now, let’s skip to the last part. 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail: whether there be tongues, they shall cease: whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part and prophecy in part.

Notice that Paul said, "we know in part and prophecy in part." I really believe he is saying, they had What part of the Bible that had been written till that time they were in and the other "Part" was given to them in prophecy. But notice, that came to an end...

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

What is it that was perfect to come? There are only three things I know of: God the Father, God The Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ. But there is one more and he is the Word, The Holy Bible. I believe with all my heart when Paul and the others had penned the final pages of what we now have as the HOLY BIBLE (King James Version) all prophecy ceased, all those wonders and miracles ceased at a point out there. Why? Because, now, you have a more sure word of prophecy. 2 Peter 1:18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We also have a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark, until the day dawn, and the daystar arise in your hearts.

There’s coming a day in the future called the rapture and after that all those signs and wonders will begin again, but meanwhile, you have the Holy Bible and nothing in this universe supercedes it. All the questions and prophecies you can and will need to know are in it and it is our job to find them, they are there, they are there.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.

You can now put away childish things, you know what I’m talking about if you have read 1 Corinthians 13:10-13.

Pray for this country and pray for the lost.

Till next time,

Study.
